The integrated HMPE loop allows for three levels of braking to be set with a single hand movement, depending on weight distribution.

The integrated pulley ensures that the friction generated at the first intermediate belay point is lower than when using a quickdraw, meaning the OHMEGA goes unnoticed while climbing or belaying, even on long and difficult routes. The short HMPE loop and the resulting minimal activation distance make it easier for the belayer to provide dynamic and fluid belaying, reducing the risk of impact injuries.

In the event of a fall, the cam brakes the descent, providing support to the belayer and compensating for any weight difference. This prevents the belayer from being dragged uncontrollably in the event of a long fall.
