A hybrid double-layer construction in the torso area provides maximum comfort and support, whilst a single-layer construction is used in the head and leg areas, where high thermal comfort is not required.

Instead of the typical air mattress design, a technology has been developed in which the air cells form a matrix of interconnected, large-surface-area chambers called Air Sprung Cells. The Air Sprung Cells work in such a way that each cell deforms independently, allowing the mattress to adapt perfectly to the shape of the body.

The S.I. valve is designed to be reversible, which prevents air from re-entering the mattress. This allows you to easily pack the mattress down to the smallest possible size without having to struggle to re-inflate it. This patented design also has a very slim profile and does not get in the way whilst you sleep. More importantly, inflation is faster than with traditional screw-in valves and allows for precise adjustment of the mattress’s firmness. The full surface area of the foam also provides a much improved bond between the foam and the mattress’s top layer, significantly reducing the likelihood of it peeling away or bulging.

An interesting feature of Sea to Summit mats is the PillowLock™ System, which allows travel pillows from the same brand to be attached to the mat, ensuring a comfortable night’s sleep without the pillow slipping.
